What's the easiest way to update to a newer user.js?

I was wondering if I going from the v135 to v137 what's the easiest way to migrate? I've been making a new profile each time and manually migrating everything(bookmarks, re-logging in into websites for cookie, reinstalling all extensions and changing settings, etc) but it feels like a hassle every time, is there a way to quickly reset every and apply the new user.js?

Found this article, so would just deleting the prefs.js then putting the new user.js into the profile before starting it update it essentially?

If I read it correctly, I should close Firefox, run the script with the old user.js so it removes all those preferences, then change to the new user.js before starting Firefox again?

Mostly correct. Just make sure to move the script to the desired profile directory before running it.

I would say that's extreme. Honestly, most user.js projects have matured to where they don't make sweeping changes every release, including Betterfox. Most removals are because Mozilla made our exisiting changes their new default values, which is good!

Going in about:config to reset them takes two minutes. For instance, go the the user.js file in the latest commit from v.135-137 and see what was removed for the Betterfox user.js file.

I usually note in the release notes what prefs need a hard reset.
