Custom css and js issue

First of all, thank you for developing this incredible platform!

I'm using the self-hosted Docker version v0.24.0 as recommended on the official Docker website (this one: https://github.com/rubenarslan/formr_dev_docker )

I noticed that in the run setting, we should be able to insert custom CSS and JavaScript. However, when I pasted my own CSS and JS and clicked the save button, it didn't seem to save. When I returned to these CSS and JS banks, my scripts were missing, unlike other settings like the privacy statement and terms of service. And I don't see my CSS or JS inserted when I inspect my run page. I believe it's a bug...

Currently, I'm inserting a note item into my survey Excel file with the tag on each page as a workaround, but it's not very convenient. Hopefully this can be solved...

Hi Lynn! The most recent version of formr is 0.24.3. Use that. I'm not sure it will solve your problem but it might.

Please do not use the development docker image "in production" (i.e. on the public web). As it says in the readme:

This is just an attempt to make it easier to start developing formr. This setup is not suitable for production. It permits arbitrary code execution on OpenCPU, the database is not encrypted, the HTTP connection is not encrypted, etc.

I guess the image is probably fine for local/lab use. To host formr as a public website, encryptions and restrictions are needed.

Thanks for the quick response! I totally get that the dev Docker image isn’t meant for production use. I’m using the developer version mainly because I saw that registration for formr.org is closed, and self-hosting was recommended lol…. I’m just running a small academic study on my own server, probably as the only admin. I’ve set it up behind HTTPS, closed the dangerous OpenCPU port, and tried to make it as safe as I can... with help from ChatGPT 😅After all I’m not a developer — just a novice researcher who got really frustrated with my school’s survey platform and decided to give this a try. As for updating to the latest version 0.24.3, I did try just now, but it didn’t seem to solve the issue… no style change after posting the CSS, and nothing is saved on the css tab of the run setting page…. but as of right now, it doesn’t bother me that much. Ok, great that you've taken steps for security.

For your problem: My guess is that the webroot/tmp/admin directory isn't writable by apache, fixable with chmod.
The dev docker image should handle that, I hope to get around to updating it soon. Let me know if you had to fix other things.
