Reasons for the request

Have attempted contact of maintainers through github and linkedin. Would like to fix issues and publish new release with modern python version.

No existing issues, would like to take over this package as a maintainer to fix failing tests, and ensure this continues to work with modern jenkins versions

This PR fixes several issues with the package
pycontribs/jenkinsapi#874

This is better IMO than the other package jenkins python
I use this package in my job and would like to assist other users with extending this library to assist others with controlling jenkins installations in native python

Since you have talked to one of the project's owners (@lechat), are they willing to make you an Owner as well? Because right now, it looks like you only have Maintainer rights.

So still unable to publish a new version of the repo, or fix the docs

Bumping this - this is a fairly broadly used package
There are two versions of docs deployed - and the latest tag in pypi doesn't exist in the source code
Think it would be good to freshly deploy and ensure visibility to what is in the package people are getting from pypi
