Record declaration vs class declaration coverage

is there any reason why record declaration is calculated as missing coverage?
Class declaration is skipped => expected behavior

For a record, additional code is generated by the compiler.

public record SomeRecord(int X, int Y);

Generated code =>

Your test cases are not covering all the cases, and hence coverage is missing for few blocks.

Since there is only one line to see the coverage status, line coverage status is not covered.

But is this correct? Why should I coverage generated code (default constructor) by the compiler?

Does coverlet threat records same as classes?

In my opinion, generated code should be skipped. And there should be coverage only for the constructor. Thanks for sharing it with us. We will try to prioritize this.

By looking at the coverlet issue, it seems like they skip these generated properties.

As a workaround, you can add System.Runtime.CompilerServices.CompilerGeneratedAttribute in your runsettings file and it should work.
