Question: Future Development and Roadmap of MediaPipe

Hello MediaPipe team,

First of all, thank you for your great work on MediaPipe — it has been an invaluable framework for real-time perception and on-device ML solutions across platforms. Many developers, including myself, really appreciate its design and ease of use.

I would like to ask about MediaPipe’s future development and roadmap.
Recently, a friend of mine attended Google I/O and mentioned that there might not be further updates for MediaPipe in the future. This has raised some concerns in my team.

Could you please clarify:

• Is MediaPipe still under active development and maintenance?
• Are there any plans or roadmap you could share regarding future features, improvements, or long-term support?
• If the focus has shifted, what alternatives or successor projects should developers consider?

I ask this with sincere respect, as many of us are planning projects and would like to understand how to best align with Google’s direction.
