Cause using Fedora 42, i cannot reproduce the issue.

I've deleted a connection, closed the app, added a new one, closed the app and could still connect.

Sorry, not sure how to open the Compass version you sent. I extracted the archive and executed the "MongoDB Compass" executable, but it tells me "GTK2/3 symbols detected. Using GTK2/3 and GTK4 in the same processis not supported", followed by "terminated by signal SIGTRAP"

It also happens in a VM, so you could try installing Bluefin in a VM to reproduce it there

Actually, got it to work now using "./MongoDB \Compass --gtk-version=3 --ignore-additional-command-line-flags"

The problem does not appear here for me

@cYDN48 i can reproduce it with an Arch VM and with Bluefin 42 and what ever i tried failed, so no idea how to help.

What i tried so far, besides the setup that is part of this codebase

  - --socket=session-bus
  - --talk-name=org.freedesktop.secrets
  - --filesystem=xdg-run/gcr:create

I addition to libsecret there are a bunch of KDE specific entries like kwalletd6, so I tried adding the GNOME specific org.gnome.keyring, and that seems to have fixed it 😄

I used Flatseal and added org.gnome.keyring under System Bus -> Talks, which should be the same, so yes

This password stuff with flatpak is a pure mess...

I tried the same in a fresh VM, and my fix indeed does not work. But I found out what does.

You gotta run the NON-flatpak MongoDB Compass and save a password there. Once I did that in the VM, the flatpak would also correctly save passwords, even when I took the GNOME keyring permission away.

I believe the flatpak somehow fails to create a new password store to save passwords in, but once it has been created by the non-flatpak, it can use that without problems?

the RPM version works fine and save the paswords but using those flags on fedora 42 workstation.

What happens if you can't install the non-flatpak version of compass? can't we just give this access to GNOME Secrets?
