Using Github but not actually "git" #344

Hi,
Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but i'd like to ask, whether there is a specific reason for not actually using "git" in a sense of version control system, but pushing a complete new set of files each day.
This has the effect, that the actual use case of using a version control system, to follow changes through several version, i.e. presence/absence of an list entry at a specific time, is not exactly working.

How this is working at the moment, could equally be achieved using a simple ftp server, or for those abhorring ftp (rightly so), a simple http server with directory indexing enabled.

Cheers
Jörg
