The deep research tool is hard-wired to use openAI API. I’m using Gemini by using API Key to access that, not Vertex. I’m trying to use iiagent to fix its own code to use Gemini for deep research but that’s not working.

I already had to add setup_logger and context _manager to the chat_session.py file. Before i did this, it was not maintaining context at all.

Everytime i log in, i have to add Gemini API key and the keys for firecrawl, jina, tavily and serpapi. This doesn’t save either

For the deep search tool, please refer to the II-Researcher setup guide to ensure it's properly configured for use with II-Agent.

Regarding the API keys: they should be saved automatically in ~/.ii_agent/settings.json. You can check this file to confirm. For security reasons, the keys are not displayed on the frontend UI.

Let me know if the settings file is not being created or updated—happy to help debug further.
