How to restore a database backup

What problem will this feature address?

I am unsure on how to do a backup restore with Dokuploy.

Describe the solution you'd like

• Have docs that explain on how to restore a database when having a database backup file.
• Maybe have a new feature that will allows user to drop the database file in the UI and to apply the backup.

Additional context

I have setup a database backup with S3 so I am able to create db backups.
I do not know how to apply the created backups if my database connection in not exposed to the public.

Even if I do make the db publicly available, I am not confident if I specified the right flags when I invoke pg_restore for example. It would be nice to document that.

Currently there is no way to do a restore, usually what I do is expose the database, connect via PGAdmin and then do a restore from the backup I have stored in the S3 bucket, this would apply to any database, but it would be great to have some option in the interface.

Any updates on this? We can backup but not restore.

For Posgres, Dokploy executes the following command to create the dump file (I am not sure if the command changed in the meantime):
pg_dump -Fc --no-acl --no-owner -h [HOST] -U [USER] --no-password [DB_NAME] | gzip > ./pg_dump_hello.gz

In order to restore the dump, you can:

• Expose the db to the public in the Dokploy dashboard. (Revert this action after you restored the db.)
• Run pg_restore -h [HOST] -U [USER] -d [DB_NAME] --no-owner --clean ./pg_dump_hello

This restore option is only for backups stored in S3, right? Or is it possible to upload a backup?
