Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a folder tracked with Git
2. Click on the Source Control Checkout button in the bottom Status Bar
3. Enter a new branch name
4. Click on Create new branch...

Another step before the branch is created.

There is no other step—the branch is immediately created.
